Cemetery Maintenance

Must be knowledgeable of maintenance of Cemetery grounds, consisting of mowing, weed eating and leveling graves.  Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally.  Mechanically inclined on maintenance of equipment and small engines.  Backhoe experience a plus but will train if needed.  Willing to learn to promote and sell lots and services to prospective purchasers.  Able to explain cemetery rules and regulations to the public.

Sanitation Department

General Laborer/ Truck Driver

Responsibilities include but not limited to backup route driver with main duties being dumpster repair & deliveries, roll-off container servicing & delivery, recycling service maintenance. Must be able to Mig weld preferred to have a Class B CDL driver’s license, but can obtain within 1 year, with tanker endorsements. HazMat Endorsement required within one year of hire.

LIBRARY ASSISTANT

The City of Elk City is currently seeking a F/T Library Assistant for the Carnegie Library.

 Duties include:

  • Perform technical processing of new library materials in an accurate manner in order to provide logical, timely access to library holdings:
  1. Laminate and apply book jackets on new materials.
  2. Property stamp new materials.
  3. Package and label audio materials.
  • Assist the public with small tasks (copying, faxing, and computer use). Any actions with the public needs an approach of courteousness and helpfulness.
  • Repair of damaged materials neatly and accurately which are to be retained in the collection.
  • Filing of materials in the collection.
  • Notification and return of overdue library materials.
  • Notification of supplies to be ordered.
  • Scan microfilm as needed for printed copies for history or obituary files.
  • Gather ideas for programs, displays, bookmarks, etc.
  • Inventory of library collection.
  • Neaten, clean, etc. the physical reading rooms and offices.
  • Sorting of discarded/donated books for book sale.
  • Assist with bulletin boards and/or youth activity needs and decorations.
  • Promotes all library programs and activities to the public.
  • Any other related jobs that are assigned.

Elk City Police Department/Communications/Jailer

  • Must have high school education/equivalent.
  • General Knowledge of computers and Window based software
  • Must be able to multi-task
