Street Department Labor

Experience in asphalt/concrete repairs and heavy machinery preferred. Must obtain CDL within one year of hire.

WATER MAINTENANCE OPERATOR

Duties include working on the distribution and collection systems including water line and hydrant installation.  Working on leaks in system, reading meters and various other duties related to water/wastewater system.  Must be willing to be on call at least one week of each month.

Must have valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and be able to obtain Class B CDL with tanker endorsement within 90 days of hire.  Must obtain Water and Wastewater Class D license within 6 months of hire.

Parks Maintenance/Grounds Worker

The City of Elk City is currently seeking to fill the position for Parks Maintenance/Grounds Worker.

This position, under the general direction of the Parks Superintendent, performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of the park and recreation buildings, grounds, open spaces and parks.

The minimum training and experience required to perform the essential functions are as follows:

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Grounds maintenance experience.
  • Some knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in building and grounds maintenance, including chemicals and fertilizers.
  • Some knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do minor repairs.
  • Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.

RESERVE POLICE OFFICER

Under general supervision involved, the enforcement of laws and the prevention of crimes; controls traffic flow and enforces state and local traffic regulations; issues citations; participates in and conducts a variety of criminal investigations; makes arrests; provides support and assistance to special crime prevention and law enforcement programs; and performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of law enforcement services and activities.

  • Reserve officers are required to work one shift per month and attend one reserve officers' meeting per month
