ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER

An Animal Control Officer is responsible for patrol operations, community services, and to assist Police Emergency services in accordance with the mission, goals, and objectives of the City of Elk City and Elk City Police Department while in compliance with governing federal, state, and local laws. In general an Animal Control Officer provides for public safety by maintaining order and provides protection for people and property.

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must have valid Oklahoma Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
  • Must pass extensive background investigation (no felonies, no domestic violence related offenses)

Sanitation Department General Laborer/Bus & Truck

Responsibilities include but not limited to backup route driver with main duties being dumpster repair & deliveries, roll-off container servicing & delivery, recycling service maintenance.  This position will transport Department of Corrections personnel to and from the Granite, OK Work Center as needed. Must be able to Mig weld and have or acquire a class B CDL driver’s license with tanker & passenger endorsements within 90 days of hire.

Full-time Paramedic

The City of Elk City is currently seeking FT Paramedics. $18/hour + benefits. 

Requirements include:

  • National Registry EMT or OK Dept. of Health certified paramedics (both preferred),
  • OK Driver’s License,
  • ACLS/PALS, and
  • BLS-CPR.

RESERVE POLICE OFFICER

Under general supervision involved, the enforcement of laws and the prevention of crimes; controls traffic flow and enforces state and local traffic regulations; issues citations; participates in and conducts a variety of criminal investigations; makes arrests; provides support and assistance to special crime prevention and law enforcement programs; and performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of law enforcement services and activities. 

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must have valid Oklahoma Driver's License with acceptable driving record
  • Must pass extensive background investigation (no felonies, no domestic violence related offenses)
  • Reserve officers are required to work one shift per month and attend one reserve officers' meeting per month
