Street Department Labor

 Experience in asphalt/concrete repairs and heavy machinery preferred. Must obtain CDL within one year of hire.

FLEET DEPARTMENT MECHANIC

Responsibilities include but not limited to, service and maintenance of the City’s heavy fleet and non-fleet equipment, Prior experience needed in the maintenance of fleet equipment and some welding experience required. Must have a Class B CDL within one year of hire.

Sanitation Department

General Laborer/ Truck Driver

Responsibilities include but not limited to backup route driver with main duties being dumpster repair & deliveries, roll-off container servicing & delivery, recycling service maintenance. Must be able to Mig weld preferred to have a Class B CDL driver’s license, but can obtain within 1 year, with tanker endorsements. HazMat Endorsement required within one year of hire.

Elk City Police Department/Communications/Jailer

SUMMER SWIMMING POOL MANAGER

Duties include:

  • Prepare all work schedules for employees making sure the manager or head lifeguard is on duty at all times the pool is open.
  • Chemical analysis and application
  • Assist Human Resources in hiring of lifeguards
  • Insure hourly employees work no more than 40 hours per week
  • Report hours, days, and time worked for all employees under his/her direct supervision
  • Have all completed time cards to the City Clerk by 4 PM the Tuesday before payday
  • Insure employees under his/her direct supervision are properly trained in their duties
  • Hold monthly training and safety meetings for all employees under his/her direct supervision
  • Track pool attendance, balance cash drawer, and bring money to the city office for deposit.
  • Insure proper operating condition of all equipment
  • Handle first aid problems
  • Maintain staff rotations and staff breaks
  • Maintain discipline at the swimming pool facility and supervises all staff enforcing staff policies and rules.
  • Enforce the City of Elk City Swimming Pool rules and regulations to staff and public.
  • Maintain positive public relations at the swimming pool
  • Document and report all disciplinary problems and accidents to the HR Director-reports will be neat and concise.
  • Maintain a clean facility including but not limited to bathrooms, trash picked up in and outside of facility, pool vacuumed daily.
  • Set a positive example for the rest of the staff to follow.
  • Inform Parks’ Superintendent when supplies are needed and if equipment needs repaired.
  • Schedule events held at the pool at times other than the regularly scheduled hours.

 

Must have significant knowledge and experience in pool management operations. Training equivalent to high school diploma required. General management experience preferred. Must have Lifeguard Training Certification, CPR & First Aid Certification.
