POLICE OFFICER

Summary Description:

Under general supervision involved, the enforcement of laws and the prevention of crimes; controls traffic flow and enforces state and local traffic regulations; issues citations; participates in and conducts a variety of criminal investigations; makes arrests; provides support and assistance to special crime prevention and law enforcement programs; and performs a variety of technical and administrative tasks in support of law enforcement services and activities.

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must have valid Oklahoma Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
  • Must pass extensive background investigation (no felonies, no domestic violence related offenses)

 Benefits for Police Officer:

  • Starting pay for Patrol I $17.84/hour; Officers already CLEET Certified start at Patrol II $18.59/hour
  • Annual Salary starts at over $44,000

Water Plant Maintenance Worker

Under general direction of the Water Plant Superintendent, assists with the routine and skilled maintenance and repair of the Water Plant and related facilities and equipment. Must be willing to be on call at least two weeks of each month.

Must have valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and be able to obtain Class B CDL with tanker endorsement within 90 days of hire.  Must obtain Water and Wastewater Class D license within 6 months of hire.

FLEET DEPARTMENT MECHANIC

Responsibilities include but not limited to, service and maintenance of the City’s heavy fleet and non-fleet equipment, Prior experience needed in the maintenance of fleet equipment and some welding experience required. Must have a Class B CDL within one year of hire.

CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU P/T ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 

 The City of Elk City is currently looking to fill the position for Convention & Visitors Bureau P/T Administrative Assistant.

 The Administrative Assistant provides daily administrative assistant duties for the Elk City Convention & Visitors Bureau by performing financial, operational, and administrative functions including oversight and coordination of office administrative and financial activities and procedures. Embraces the mission of the Elk City Convention & Visitors Bureau and act as a welcoming ambassador to visitors. Helps market this area as a destination for visitors. Upholds the mission of encouraging visitors to stay in Elk City and persuade visitors to sample the attractions and businesses.

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. Also, must have a valid Driver’s License.

Sanitation

Department General Laborer/ Truck Driver

Responsibilities include but not limited to backup route driver with main duties being dumpster repair & deliveries, roll-off container servicing & delivery, recycling service maintenance. Must be able to Mig weld and have a Class B CDL driver’s license with tanker endorsements. HazMat Endorsement required within one year of hire.
