Craig Fletcher, a ten year old citizen of Elk City , wrote a letter to the Mayor. This letter started a chain of events that resulted in Elk City celebrating Earth Day on Saturday April 18th, 2009. A group of citizens including Craig, his Mom, and the Mayor met at Ackley Park to plant flowers, pick up trash, and clean up the miniature golf. The city provided flowers, mulch, trash bags, gloves and water for refreshment. Fun was had by all who attended.
