We are fortunate in Elk City to have 19 storm sirens located throughout the City. The City maintains these sirens during storm season and after March 1st testing will once again resume. The sirens are tested every Saturday as long as the weather is clear and there is a person at each siren when they are tested to be sure they are operating properly. So don’t be alarmed when you hear the sirens in the next few weeks. Again they will only test the sirens if the weather is clear, if we are having stormy weather they will not be testing the sirens.
