Chapter 24: Wards & Boundaries

Article 1. Ward Boundaries

Section 24-l. Ward Boundaries Established.

1. The boundary line of the wards within the City of Elk City are hereby changed as follows: 

Ward l 
All territory lying East of the center line of Main Street, and Highway 6 South; thence West on the center line of Country Club Road to the SE corner of the SW3 of the SW3 of Section 15, Township 11 North, Range 21 WIM, Beckham County, Oklahoma; thence North to the NE corner of the NW3 of the NW3 of Section 15, Township 11 North, Range 21 WIM, Beckham County, Oklahoma, lying within the corporate limits of the City of Elk City. 
Ward 2 
All territory lying West of the center line of Main Street and North of the center line of Avenue B; South of the center line of Country Club Road; thence West of the center line of the Southeast corner of the SW3 of the SW3 of Section 15, Township 11 North, Range 21 WIM, Beckham County, Oklahoma, lying within the corporate limits of the City of Elk City. 
Ward 3 
All territory lying South of the Farmrail Railroad lines; and West of the center line of Main Street and Highway 6 South; and East of the center line on Randall to Twentieth Street; and South of the North boundary of Section 33; and East of the West boundary of Section 33, all In Township 11 North, Range 21 WIM, Beckham County, Oklahoma; and East of the West boundary of Section 4 and 9, all in Township 10 North, Range 21 WIM, Beckham County, Oklahoma; and, all territory described beginning at the intersection of the center line of Avenue B and the center line of Main Street; thence West along the center line of Avenue B to the center line of Peace Ave; thence South along the center line of Peace Ave to Second Street; thence East on the center line of Second Street to Boone Street; thence South along the center line of Boone Street to Sixth Street; thence East along the center line of Sixth Street to Washington Avenue; thence South along the center line of Washington Avenue to Farmrail Road Line; thence Northeasterly along the Railroad to the center line of Main Street; thence North along said center line of Main Street to the intersection of the center lines of Avenue B and Main Street; lying within the corporate limits of the City of Elk City. 
Ward 4 
All territory lying West of the intersection of Ave B and Peace Ave; thence South on the center line of Peace Avenue to Second Street; thence East on the center line of Second Street to Boone Street; thence South on the center line of Boone Street to Sixth Street; thence East on the center line of Sixth Street to Washington Avenue; thence South on the center line of Washington Avenue to Farmrail Railroad Line; thence SW'ly along said Railroad Line to Randall Avenue; thence South on the center line of Randall Avenue to Twentieth Street; thence West along the center line of Twentieth Street to the NE corner of Section 32; thence South along the East boundary line of Section 32 to the SE corner of Section 32; and any property located within the corporate limits of the City of Elk City.

Section 24-5. Corporate Boundaries Map. 

1. A map depicting the current corporate boundaries of the City of Elk City, Oklahoma, shall be maintained and displayed in the Office of the City Clerk. 

2. This map shall reflect all current annexation and de annexation Ordinances and orders, all plat and/or street vacation orders, and shall represent the official map of the corporate boundaries of the City of Elk City, Oklahoma.

3. This map may be combined with the official Zoning Districts Map (See Article 3 of this Chapter). All dedicated streets and alleys shall be shown on this map; vacated streets and alleys shall not be shown on said map, but shall be redrawn by the methods provided by Oklahoma Statutes.

4. This map shall be available for public inspection.

Article 3. Zoning Boundaries

Section 24-10. Zoning District Boundaries. 

1. A map showing the boundaries of all current Zoning Districts within the entire corporate boundaries of the City of Elk City, Oklahoma, shall be maintained in the Office of the City Clerk, if a Zoning Ordinance is in effect within said municipality.

2. This map shall reflect all current Zoning Ordinance provisions (See Chapter 18, this Code of Ordinances) and all current Ordinances re zoning land, and shall represent the official Zoning Districts Map for the City of Elk City, Oklahoma.

3. This map may be combined with the official map of the corporate limits of the City of Elk City, Oklahoma. (See Article 2 of this Chapter).

4. This map shall be available for public inspection.
